Suggestion for your blog - you might want to put the white block back in for the area where you post your messages and use the pink as a background. Having the white area for your posts keeps things clean and more readable. Or, keep the pink, but change the color you use to display hyperlinks. The gray gets lost.
Otherwise, I think it looks great :) I am not sure how to fix the alignment issue, but there is a blog out there that helps with customization tutorials. I used it when I worked on my blog. Here is the address: http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/
